There are many within our organizations that have dedicated their time and effort to the local and/or state BA, WBA or YABA. However, there are few who have dedicated their entire life to all three. This inductee is one of those people, as the following statistics will reflect.
National Level—

• In 2005, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2016, 2020, Point Person for National Open Youth Tournament and Junior Gold National Events
• Assistant Chairman of the Ballot Committee for ABC that made the ultimate decision to begin the merging of all entities into the current USBC
• Starting as a Certified Coach, he has gone through all former Young American Bowling Alliance (YABA) coaching programs and is also one of the 1st Bronze Level Coaches in the west side of the Indianapolis Area
State Level—

• 2005, served on the State Task Force Committee for the Indiana State Mixed Tournament
• 2006-08, served as Zone Five Representative for the Indiana State USBC YA Bowling Association
• 2008, elected Sergeant-at-Arms of the Indiana State USBC YA Bowling Association
• Served as 2nd Vice President of the Indiana State YA Bowling Association
• 1998-to Current-Served as member of Indiana/Kentucky All Stars Tournament and after George Webb’s retirement, became its
Tournament Manager
• 2001-2007, Tournament Director for State Junior Masters & Queens Tournament
• 2004-2008, Tournament Staff for the Midwest All-Stars
• Served as Manager/Director for State Youth Team House, Adult/Youth Tournament, Master and Queens, and the Indiana/Kentucky All-Stars
• 2018-current, Serving as the Indiana State USBC Regional Youth Director for the Southeast Section of Indiana
• Served as a member of the Bowl Indiana State Council until it ended in 2007
Local Level—

• Has attended every ABC/USBC Convention since 1996 and the 2020 will mark his 25th National Convention
• 1986-89, served as Director for Plainfield Bowling Association
• 1989, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer of Plainfield Bowling Association
• 1994-1997, served as Director for Gr Indianapolis Bowling Association
• 1997, served as Assistant Secretary/Treasurer of Gr Indianapolis Bowling Association for 1 year
• 1997-2006, served Gr Indianapolis Bowling Association as its Secretary/Treasurer
• 2006-2019, Association Manager of Indy USBC
• Qualifier Tournament Director for the Indy USBC Dick Lyke Scholarship Tournament and the Matt Douglas Scholarship Tournament
• 1990-1993, served as Secretary of the former Hendricks/Morgan County YABA
• Was Co-Chairman with IWBA President for ABC/WIBC Membership Development
• In 2014, Corky, with Terri Powell and Brittney Hook, organized the beginning of the VA Trios League that helps veterans learn the Sport of Bowling and friendships. The league continues today consisting of eight to ten new veterans each session receiving coaching instructions from various association bowlers. In addition, veterans receive their first equipment to begin them on a lifetime journey of bowling with friends.

Although he is an excellent Coach, Corky Koch is also an excellent bowler who has lifetime highs of a 189 average (1996) with a high game and series of 290/748 in 1994. He retired from the active role of Indy USBC Association Manager in January 2020 but hopes to continue to stay involved in the Indiana State USBC, tournaments, and other activities with the Indy USBC.
His wife has often said, “Corky would eat, drink, breath and sleep bowling if he could.”
